A little about myself
My name is Nelly and I am a vegan. I love cooking and I love food. My perception about food and nutrition changed after I watched ‘Cowspiracy’. Although I love cooking, I have always been addicted to fast food. I started experiencing gut problems due to a very unhealthy diet that I had been following for years.
I was diagnosed for gastritis and GERD. Since becoming a vegan, my digestive issues including GERD have become non-existent. I am absolutely enjoying being a vegan. I have rediscovered my passion for cooking (I used to blog under ‘Nelly’s Nosh’), I feel lighter and happier. I am currently studying nutrition to help people understand and manage disease. So, that’s me.
About this blog
The purpose of this blog is 2 fold: (a) prepare and share nutrient dense plant-based meal ideas; and (b) enlighten readers on how nutrition is the cornerstone to a healthy and disease-free life.
Medications are only a temporary solution to a problem. They never get to the root cause of the issue like nutrition does. We can Band-Aid the situation with medications but unless until something from within changes, we are just going to need a whole lot more instead of a Band-Aid.
This blog (other than subtly urging everyone to be a vegan) is my bit to save the planet and save billions of animals from being brutally slaughtered for consumption each year. Other than the ethical and environmental reasons, the health benefits of being vegan is another motivating factor for this blog.
